Ronald L. “Stoney” Burke, 76 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with entombment in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service Friday morning at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Arborcrest Memorial Park.

Ronald was born May 23, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Donald W. and Dorothy (Jackson) Burke. He married Nancy L. Troup on August 8, 1959. Stoney retired from World Color Press after 31 years of service. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the DAV. Ronald loved golfing and fishing, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy of Effingham; children, Pam (Joe) Workman of Effingham, Cindy (David) Gaddey of Shumway, Ronald (Bev) Burke, Jr. of Effingham and Renee (Brett) Schoenfeld of Beecher City; siblings, Sharon O’Neil, Carol Walker and Dawn (James) Neal, all of Dayton, Ohio and Phillip (Joyce) Burke of Teutopolis; grandchildren, Anthony Gaddey, Jody Goeckner, Jamie Kendrick, Casey Overbeck, Luke Workman, Laura Thull, Jenna Orsborn, Janelle Schuette, Joni Burke, Joey Schoenfeld and Stephanie Burke; 21 great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Jean Troup; brother, Hubert Burke and nephew, Bob Burke.
