Vernon E. Reeves, 51, of Neoga, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday in the Mausoleum Chapel at the cemetery. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Vernon to the family for funeral expenses and may be directed to Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, IL 62401.

Vernon was born on November 19, 1965 in Hayti, MO, the son of Leroy and Francis (Lyell) Reeves.
Vernon is survived by his sons, Daniel (Kendra Davis) Reeves of Effingham, Shane Reeves of Jewett and Eric (Valerie) Reeves of Newton; 3 grandchildren, Blake Reeves, Serenity Reeves, and Dalton Reeves; mother, Francis Forrester of Altamont; brothers, Billy (Brenda) Reeves of Mattoon, Kenneth Reeves of Neoga, Henry Reeves of Neoga; sisters, Wilma (Jim) Murry of Beecher City, Betty (Jim) Harris of Willow Hill, Mary (Billy) Stark of Neoga, Genny Haddix of Beecher City, Patricia (Steve Gill) Reeves of Altamont, and Donna Elston of Mattoon.
He was preceded in death by his father; and brothers, William and Gary Reeves.
