Mary Alice Line, age 81, of Newton, Illinois, and formerly Wendelin, Illinois, passed away at 4:20 PM - Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Willowbrook Memory Care in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Monday, March 13 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois, with Fr. Marc Stec celebrating mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM – Sunday at the church and ½ hour before mass at the church. In loving memory of Alice, memorials may be made for masses in Alice and Don’s life. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Alice was born March 27, 1935, in Clay County Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Bonlyn (Barker) Seckinger. She graduated from Clay City High School in 1953. She married Don Line on November 25, 1954, and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2011. Alice was a lifelong farmwife and found joy in her family, friends, gardening, flowers, reading, playing cards, and her little dog, Teddy. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois.

Alice is survived by children, Terry (husband Lee) Webb of Newton, Illinois, Cathy (husband Dan)  Esker, of Teutopolis, Illinois and Kelly (wife Tammie) Line of Effingham, Illinois; grandchildren, Amy (husband Jeremy) Strayer of LaGrange, Illinois, Seth (wife Ruth) Webb of Fisher, Illinois, Dakota Esker of Nashville, Tennessee, Jessica Wolfert, of Effingham, Illinois, Derrek Line of Effingham, Illinois, Devin Wolfert, of Effingham, Illinois, Kody Line of Effingham, Illinois and Kage Line of Effingham, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Strayer, Audra Strayer, Alyssa Strayer, Kamryn Wolfert; Kinley Line and Tyler Finfrock; and brother-in-law, Bill Line of Wendelin, Illinois.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy (Delbert) Weber and sister-in-law Mary Line.
