Loren Raymond Pilcher, 89, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27 in the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Tim Yankee officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL and also one hour before services Monday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL or World Gospel Mission, 3783 IN-18, PO Box 948, Marion, IN 46952 (for the El Sembrador Boys School/Tim & Sharon Project, Catacamas, Honduras.)

Loren was born on January 11, 1928 in Clay County, IL, the son of Claude Ralph and Theresa “Tracy” Elbert Pilcher. He was a graduate of LaGrove High School and a lifelong farmer in the Clay County area. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Shelbyville, IL, Clay Electric Cooperative, and a lifelong member of Clay County Farm Bureau. He married Patricia “Patty” Mack on February 18, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Patty; sons, David Eugene Pilcher (Carol) of Louisville, KY, Jerry Lee Pilcher (Kathy) of Bible Grove, IL and Brian Keith Pilcher (Brandi) of Altamont, IL; daughters, Marjorie Eileen Barnes (Donald) of Greenup, IL and Barbara Ann Painter (Lee) of Effingham, IL; brother, Cecil George Pilcher of Decatur, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell Raymond and Linda Kay Pilcher; sister and brother-in-law, Lois Helen and Theodore Patton; and sister-in-law Willetta Pilcher.
