Michael L. "Mike" Curtner, 62, of Charleston, South Carolina, formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017, in his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, February 27 in the Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL, with Rev. Richard Coen of Neoga officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour before the services on Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, Illinois. Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Neoga Boosters Club.

Mike was born October 29, 1954, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Ernest "Pat" and Phyllis J. (Lewis) Curtner. Mike graduated from the Neoga High School and after graduating, he left for Charleston, South Carolina, to work in the construction field as a carpenter. He enjoyed being with his special friend, Laura and his other friends.
Mike leaves one daughter, Danielle Braden of Heyworth, IL; two brothers, John Curtner and wife Linda of Jacksonville, FL, and Robin Curtner and wife Lisa of Dutton, AL; three sisters, Nancy Dow and husband Jim of rural Neoga, IL, Gloria Williams and husband Greg of Mattoon, IL and Tina Crisman and husband Kevin of Oakdale, CT: several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Curtner was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Curtner.
