Terry Trolinger (74)

Terry Trolinger, was the son of William Carpenter Trolinger and Erma Louise Neuman. He was born August 19, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, a descendant of immigrants including his 4th great-grandfather, Kentucky Governor Evan Shelby, the George Spears Carpenter of Carpenter’s Station in Kentucky in the early 1800’s, and the Neuman’s and Trolinger’s who migrated to Texas.

Terry loved camping and fishing as a young boy and was a decorated Boy Scout, earning his Eagle Scout Badge. Terry graduated from W B Ray high school in Corpus Christie Texas, and joined the U.S. Army in 1963, following his ancestor’s military line back to the Revolutionary war. After getting out of the Army, Terry relocated to Danville Illinois in 1973, where he became a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and remained a faithful member until his death. He married Susan Allison on April 29, 1973 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses on Gilbert Street, and became the father of the two people that brought him the most joy in his life, his sons, Roger and John.

Terry’s favorite job was working on the Allison farm north of Danville and he helped run The Little Cheese Shoppe and petting zoo on their farm and the store when it moved to the Pier 1 Plaza until it closed in 1986. Terry also worked at Peterson Puritan as a security guard.

Terry is survived by his two sons; Roger (Carrie) of Rockford and granddaughter, Mia, and John (Michelle) of Chicago; his nephew, Jeff Mosley (Jeannie and 2 sons) of Cypress, Texas; his cousin, Deanna Neudecker (Rod) of Panama City, Florida and a large Trolinger clan of cousins in Kerrville, Texas. Terry also leaves behind a host of friends and extended family including his ex-wife, Susan of Tampa, FL and Allison sisters-in-law, Jenny of Minneapolis, Alicia of Effingham, and Beth of Sequim, WA and all the Allison nieces and nephews.

Both his parents, and his sister, Nancy Camille Mosley, passed before him, as did his mother and father in law, Lee and Grace Allison of Danville.
