Phyllis Lorene Robertson Petty, 83, of rural Herrick, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden. Burial will be at the Mound Cemetery in Cowden. Memorials may be made to the Herrick Church of Christ.

She was born on February 25, 1933, in Fayette County, the daughter of Homer R. Robertson and Pauline A. Richards Robertson. She graduated from Cowden High School in 1951. She married Glenn Lanell Petty on October 27, 1951 in Vandalia; he passed away March 26, 2012. She worked at F.C.I.C in Effingham, Miller Oil in Cowden and served as Unit Secretary with the Cowden-Herrick School District for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Herrick.

Phyllis is survived by daughter Dana Christine Neuman of Beecher City; sisters Roberta “Cookie” Thompson of Scottsburg, IN and Shirley Redman of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Pauline, husband Glenn, son-in-law Bill Neuman, brother Kenneth Robertson, sisters Melba Bird and Ruby Rich.
