Betty Jane (Brown) Thomas, 91, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 9:50 AM – Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 2:00 PM – Wednesday, February 8 at the Meyer Funeral Home - Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Pastor Patrick Powers officiating. Burial will be in the Block Cemetery southeast of Greenup, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.

Betty was born on May 16, 1925, in Greenup, Illinois, the daughter of Ferd and Mae (Walden) Brown, and they preceded her in death. She married Robert Lee Thomas on November 13, 1943 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1995. Betty was homemaker and worked at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory in Greenup for several years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Block Church.
Betty is survived by: Children – Robert D. (Evelyn) Thomas, Sr. of Dixon, Illinois, Jane (Vernon) Miller of Toledo, Illinois and Janet (Ray) Blade of Greenup, Illinois; 3 Grandchildren – Robert D. (Kim) Thomas, Jr. of Garner, North Carolina, Felicia (Jamie) Huddlestun of Toledo, Illinois and Grant (Kelly) Cox of Montrose, Illinois; 5 Great Grandchildren – Wyatt and Taylor Huddlestun of Toledo, Illinois, Braydon, Corbin and Cale Cox of Montrose, Illinois; and Special cousin – Wallace (Delores) Walden of Greenup, Illinois.
