Emelia Marie Pope, 2-½ , of Cowden passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her home.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Cowden. Interment will take place at Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden is assisting the family. Memorials can be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Born August 18, 2014, she was the daughter of Chris A. and Brea M. (Tucker) Pope.

Surviving are her parents of Cowden; two brothers Hunter and Tucker Pope of Cowden; grandparents Tzena Tucker of Cowden, Robin and Wess Shellenbarger of Herrick, and Kent and Chris Pope of Venice, FL; great-grandparents Herschel and Rosemary Cosart of Effingham, Marge Cloe of Pana, and Gerald and Barbara Redford of Forsyth; aunts and uncles Klint (Brooke) Tucker of Pekin, Nick Tucker of Peoria, Kara (Mike) Wade of Tuscola, Aaron (Heidi) Pope of Indianapolis, IN, Anthony (Rachel) Pope of Shelbyville, Jared Shellenbarger of Pontiac, Faith (Jeremiah) Kistler of St. Louis, MO, Jacob Shellenbarger of Shelbyville, Zach Pope of Stillwater, OK, and Becca Pope of Dallas, TX; several cousins.

Emelia is preceded in death by her grandfather Pete Tucker, and great-grandparents Louis and Juanita Tucker, Jack Cloe, Wilbur and Vena Shellenbarger, and Dorwin and Hazel Pope.

Emelia was a very joyful, fun-loving little girl who enjoyed playing with her older brothers. She was a ray of sunshine who loved and hugged everyone she met. Her infectious joy will be dearly missed, but her light will forever remain.
