Dorothy Wiedman, 92, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 3 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. C.C.W. rosary at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham IL. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Dorothy to St. Anthony Schools.

Dorothy was born on March 10, 1924, in Effingham, IL, the youngest of four children to William and Anna (Kralman) Buennemeyer. She married Charles J. Wiedman on June 23, 1948, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1967. Dorothy was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She was a bookkeeper at R&B Electric for many years. In later years, she was employed by the former Marshall Clinic and the Effingham Senior Center. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren sporting events. She also spent many an hour completing word searches.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Margaret “Maggie” (Danny) Bushue of Effingham, Charles “Chuck” (Deb) Wiedman of Effingham, and William “Bill” (Sindi) Wiedman of Pawnee; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary K. Wiedman of Effingham; brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Flach of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother, William Buennemeyer; sisters, Bertha Hall and Clara Hardiek; and granddaughter, Kimberly Bushue.
