Mary Ellen (Schultz) Spivey 87, of Greenup passed away Wednesday January 25, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Center in Greenup, Illinois.
Private family funeral services honoring Mary will be held. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family with arrangements. The family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army.

Mary was born October 30, 1929, in Sigel Illinois, the daughter of Albert and May (Koester) Schultz. She married Kenneth J.A. Spivey January 10, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mary is survived by Son Dale (Paula) Spivey, Mattoon, Il. Daughters Pam (Alan) Bumpas, Charleston, Il. Edith Brown, St. Louis, Mo. Carol (Steve) Sudkamp, Greenup, Il. Linda (Chris) Meier, Mattoon, Il. Daughter in-law, Sherri Spivey. Grandchildren; Ashley, Tiffany, Justin, Matthew, Heather, John, Levi, Jeremy, Jessica, Nick, Sara, Zack. Great Grandchildren; Morgan, Braden, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Rylan, Ryan, Avery, Khole, Autumn, McKenzie and Avery.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons Kenneth D. Spivey and Tommy E. Spivey, two brothers and five sisters.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a homemaker.
