Emma Marie Beccue, 86 years old of Springfield, formerly of Altamont, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 25, 2017 at the Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield where she made her residence for the past few months.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning January 30 at 11:00 AM in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Altamont with both Rev. Dr. James F. Wright and Rev. Thomas Radtke officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 4:00am-8:00pm on Sunday at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont and again for one hour prior to the funeral services at the church. Burial Rites will be at the church cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Emma was born into the Christian family of Warner J. and Martha Lachmiller-Huisinga. She began her long life on January 29, 1930 in Blue Earth County, Mankato, Minnesota. She was baptized on March 2, 1930 and then confirmed her faith on May 14, 1943 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham. She married Harry Arthur Beccue on August 30, 1952 at St. John’s Lutheran Church and lived in Altamont from 1955 until 1985 where they both moved to Springfield. Her husband Harry preceded her in death on March 29, 2006. Emma belonged to Trinity Lutheran Ladies and Sangamon County Home Extension. She was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a faithful 31 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield. Emma was retired from employment by the State of Illinois. While living in Altamont besides raising a family Harry and Emma opened the Dairy Bar in the Altamont City Park in about 1960 and they were both very active in the Altamont Community especially with the Altamont Schuetzenfest, the Beccue Ford Dealership, and developing a housing subdivision. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, The Immanuel After School Care or the Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 220 South Second Street, Springfield, Illinois 62701.

She is survived by her: Daughter: Sandra Lou (Tom) Minshew of Cudahy, Wisconsin and their son: James Ian Minshew and her granddaughters: Jacquelyn Jo Beccue (husband, Miles) Elsey and Jacy Jean (husband, Michael) Virnau and their son Hudson and Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in Death by: Parents: Warner J. Huisinga and Martha Marie (Lachmiller) Huisinga; Husband: Harry Arthur Beccue; Son: Michael Lynn Beccue; Brother: Fred W. and Thelma (Jelinek) Huisinga; Sister: Luella & Terry Gayes; Father & Mother-in-law: Martin and Hulda (Burrow) Beccue; Brother & Sister-in-laws: Delbert and Henrietta Beccue, Elvin and Helen and Deloris Beccue, Louis & Mildred Milleville, Carl & Hilda Schroeder and Paul & Elda Berg.
