Brenda Harris, 77, of rural St. Peter died at 8:43am Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23 at Pilcher Cemetery, rural Brownstown with Brother Jason Wright. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.

Brenda Kay was born on Friday, August 25, 1939 in rural Vandalia, IL to F. Clyde and L. Marie (Ward) Kingery. She married Norman Harris on November 1, 1957 in Ramsey, IL and they were blessed with two children with whom she stayed home to raise. She was affiliated with the Christian Church.

Brenda leaves behind her husband of almost 60 years, Norman of St. Peter; daughters, Sharon Alexander and her husband Bob of Salem and Sandra McDonald and her husband William ‘Bill’ of Brownstown; 4 grandchildren, Leah Shipp and her husband John of Greenwood, IN, Jenna Carmichael (fiancé Bob Wilkey) of Salem, Adam Pasley and his wife Judy of Vandalia, and Hannah McDonald of O’Fallon; 6 great grandchildren, Jordan Shipp, Ayden Shipp, Cameron Carmichael, Brody Carmichael, Brynn Carmichael, and Kaylin Wilkey; sister, Linda Mahkovtz and her husband Jim of Sesser.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers in infancy Richard and Paul Kingery.
