Mabel, known as Aunt Tiny by family, was born Monday, May 27, 1918 in Pixley Township, Clay County, IL, the daughter of the late Albert Anderson and the late Ethel (Hicks) Anderson. On April 3, 1942 she married Paul "Ken" Harmon. The ceremony was held at the Sailor Springs Christian Church parsonage with the late Corydon Lee Doty officiating. Mabel and Ken enjoyed 58 years together. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2000. She worked for Howard Yonaka's Instant Bible Index, Flora Shoe Factory and Fedders Corporation until her retirement. She played the violin since the age of 7 and was taught by Mitter Franklin, her neighbor. Her entire family were musicians and her sisters and brothers played for fairs, rallies and on the Olney Radio Station. She and her sister Bernice played for most of the nursing homes in the area, winning volunteer awards.
