Lucille (Sloan) Wissink, 65, of Mahomet died at 12:24pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Jim Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be to the American Cancer Society.

Lucille Marie Sloan was born on Wednesday, January 31, 1951 in Vandalia, IL to Leo Melvin, Sr. and Eleanora Mae (Abernathy) Sloan. She married Steve Wissink on December 16, 1989 in Los Angeles, CA. She was a retired office manager and affiliated with the Christian Church.

She leaves behind her loving husband of over 27 years, Steve Wissink of Mahomet; sons, Don Steffen, Jr., Dan Steffen, both of Decatur and Michael Steffen (Amber) of Hickman, NE; daughter, Shannon Taylor (Michael O’Donnell) of Peoria; stepdaughter, Lynnette Wissink (Todd Biles); 9 grandchildren, Christopher, Chrisjian, Connor, Hailey, Emily, Shaun, Alina, Lilianne, and Alexander; brother, Rick Sloan of Effingham; sisters, Mary Lee Runge (Leroy) of Goreville; Judith Ann Pedigo of Lake Alfred, FL, Linda Fern McCoy (Floyd) of Newton and Debra Lynn Shirley (Kevin) of Sullivan; sister-in-law, Julie Sloan of Toledo; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, brothers, Leo M. Sloan, Jr., twin brothers, Lawrence and Loren Sloan and daughter, Bonita Steffen.
