Elizabeth N. Shuemaker, 79, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 7:20 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2017, in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center of Coles County, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday January 12 in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, IL with Pastor Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery, Neoga, Illinois. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Gaskill Chapel United Methodist Church of Shelby County, IL.

Elizabeth was born March 28, 1937, the daughter of Edward A. and Mary (Webb) Flack. She married George E. Shuemaker, August  26, 1956 in Effingham, Illinois and Mr. Shuemaker passed away August  29, 1989. Elizabeth was a homemaker  and a farmer's wife. She was a member of the Gaskill Chapel United Methodist Church of Shelby County, IL. Elizabeth enjoyed her family, her little dog Scubby, helping with the farm, and visiting with her friends and neighbors.

Elizabeth leaves five children, David Shuemaker and wife Jodi of Neoga, IL,  Tom Shuemaker and wife Julie of Toledo, IL: Patty Baldwin of Neoga, IL, Gary Shuemaker and wife Kim of Neoga, IL and Bill Shuemaker of Windsor, IL; two sisters, Florence Genaust and husband Bill of Effingham, IL and Mary Crawford of Vandalia, IL: fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Shuemaker was preceded in death by her parents; husband,  George Shuemaker; one son, Steve Shuemaker; one daughter, Linda Turner; two brothers, Edward F. Flack and Arthur J, Flack; one sister, Dorothea Moschenrose; one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
