Marie J. Moomaw, 93, of Stewardson, Illinois passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 22 followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson. Burial will be at the Stewardson Cemetery. Born April 4, 1923 in Brunswick, the daughter of Allie J (Coffman) and James O Miller. January 6, 1943 she and Lowell Moomaw Sr. were united in marriage and he preceded her in death February 28, 2002. Together they owned and operated Lowell Moomaw Trucking and Elevator for almost 40 years. She was a member of Stewardson United Methodist Church. Marie enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and raising her family. Special thanks to Angi Peters and Kelly Wimpee for their special care of Marie over the past several years.
Surviving are her children Lowell (wife Susan) Moomaw Jr. of Stewardson, Ronald (wife Jeanie) Moomaw of Stewardson, Marilyn Sears of Shelbyville, Donna Moomaw of Cobden, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Mary Ann Deters and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
