Maurice M. Binnion, 84, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 1:10 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Kerry Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, IL. Memorials may be given to the family.

Maurice was born on May 28, 1932 in Sigel, IL, the son of Archie Monroe and Merle Jordan Binnion. He served in the National Guard of Effingham, IL. Maurice was a “jack of all trades” and especially enjoyed tearing down old houses. Maurice loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood and spending time with his family and friends. He married Jennie Mae Dayhuff of Fancher, IL on February 16 1959. They have nine children.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie; children, Debbie Parks (Jim) of Shelbyville, IL, Helen Hooker (Bob Howe) of Cowden, IL, Maurice Binnion, Jr. of Shelbyville, IL, Marvin Binnion of Shelbyville, IL, Jerry Binnion (Millie) of Decatur, IL, Dale Binnion of Shelbyville, Mike Binnion of Shelbyville, IL, Joe Binnion of Shelbyville, IL and Jim Binnion (Marsha Allen) of Mattoon, IL; brother, Larry Cline of Watson, IL; sisters, Janet Molding of Rantoul, IL and Joni Sue Crowder of Watson, IL; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Binnion; two brothers, Howard and Don Binnion; and two sisters, Ethel Smith and Linda Munson.
