Mary Elaine Hanson, 69, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:45 AM - Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Sunday, December 11 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Saturday. Mary Elaine was born on March 18, 1947, in Hidalgo, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur Clarence and Ruby Joyce (Groves) Neese. She married Robert Lee Hanson on October 28, 1972, in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2011. Elaine was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Newton. Elaine enjoyed photography, crafting, sewing, crocheting and making quilts. She loved to read her Bible and spend time with her family.

Elaine is survived by: Daughters – Bobbie J. Miller of Newton, Illinois, Brooke (Tom) Bridges of Newton, Illinois and Carol (Mark) Nichols of Kansas, Illinois...Sister – Judy (Tom) Carter of Casey, Illinois...Brother – Arnold (Mary) Neese of Toledo, Illinois...Grandchildren – Josiah (Cassandra) Nichols, Michelle (Thomas) Rieke, Natalee Miller, Adam Bridges and Blaine Miller...A Great Grandchild is expected to be born in January 2017...and Several nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren Samuel Miller and Marlee Bridges, brother Ronald Neese and a special niece Tennille Sharp.
