Esther Jones (104) of Greenup

Esther Irene Jones, 104, of Greenup, Illinois left Earth for Heaven at 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Cumberland Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenup, Illinois.
Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 2 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Visitation will be at 10:00 am until the service time. Interment will be in Bell Cemetery in rural Greenup, IL. Memorials may be made to Cumberland Rehab Auxiliary.

Esther was born February 14, 1912 in Cumberland County; the daughter of Owen C. and Sarah Jane (Shafer) Richardson. She married Paul Jones in August 27, 1932. They had one son, Jim K. Jones, who married Eva “Jane” Carlen. They preceded her in death, as well as two sisters, two brothers and a great grandson.
Surviving her is granddaughter, Lynda and Rick Justice, grandson Doug Jones, great grandchildren Anthony “Tony” Jones, Marsey (Gedeen) Marian, Justin (Brandy) Justice, Stephanie Justice, Jason (Jan) Coleman, Bethany Scott, Brandy Scott and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Esther was a homemaker and farmer’s wife that worked long, hard hours on the farm. She loved working in her flower beds and garden and loved seeing her grandchildren grow. She attended Jack Oak Church of God.
