Kenneth W. Carter-Huffman, 58, of Effingham, was carried home by Angels at 5:51 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
According to Kenneth’s wishes, there will be no services held. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Kenneth to the family and received at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, IL 62401.

Kenneth was born on October 22, 1958, at St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham, IL, the son of Kenneth W. Carter Sr. and Yvonne L. (Blankenship) Carter-Huffman. Ken trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior, October 7, 1970; followed by Scriptural (full-submersion) Baptism on November 9, 1970 at Bible Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL. Ken attended Bennett Grade School, Central Jr. High School, and Mattoon Sr. High School Class of “76.” He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1979. Ken was a Master Printer for several years, appearing on PM Magazine TV, operating the “8th ” wonder of the world printing press, before computers changed the industry.
Ken is survived by his mother, Yvonne “Bonnie” Huffman; sons, Jeremy and Kyle; daughter, Sarah; brothers, Del and Michael (wife, Pat); sisters, Debbie and Tammy; 2 half-brothers, Jammie and Billy; and his best friends, Steve, Maxey, Ralph, and Jim.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth W. Carter Sr.; step-dad, Frank E. Huffman Jr. sister, Nicki Carter; and his beloved nephew, Clint Huffman.
