Eleanor Albie Cecilia Kaperak will not be cleaning her house today. It is clean enough. She booked a flight to meet Jesus, who she spoke to daily, and longed to meet personally. The voyage includes a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time and takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing and, no doubt, cleaning to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed, it’s never cold, the food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. It is certain to be a wonderful journey, but one from which she will not be returning.

Eleanor, born on April 4, 1921, was raised in Chicago and became a hairdresser. She met her future husband just before WWII and, while he was away with the Army, she worked long hours in a vehicle parts factory for the war effort. After the war the couple moved to Terre Haute, Indiana to raise their family. She was most proud of her children, a Professional Golfer, Fireman, Welder, Printer and Public Health Environmentalist. She was 70 when her first grandchild arrived and was over the moon as babies were her love. She often said “If I was 60 again, I’d have more.” She lived in Terre Haute until 2012 when she moved to Effingham, Illinois. She was well known for her clean and well maintained home and yard.

Eleanor’s flight departed on November, 27, 2016 and she is soon to be back in the arms of her loving husband, Frank Kaperak Sr. to whom she was married November 14, 1941, her son Frank Kaperak Jr., brothers Joe Nezgoda and Fritz Regal, and her mother and father, Mary and Frank Nezgoda of Chicago, Illinois, all of whom made the crossing far too soon.

She was seen off by her children Joe Kaperak (Linda), Dennis Kaperak (Cheryl) and Theodore Kaperak (Kay) all of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Tina Kasdorf (Michael) of Effingham, Illinois.

She was bidden farewell, and will be missed by, her grandchildren Will Boyer of Danville, Indiana, James Kaperak of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Audra Kasdorf and Frankie Kasdorf both of Effingham, Illinois, and Jesi Swaner (Mitchell) and Kalea Kaperak both of Terre Haute, Indiana. Someday, but not too soon, she will greet her surviving sister Dorothy Reavy of Oswego, Illinois.
