Carolyn A. Poe, 67, died at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday November 22, 2016 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church with parish wake service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice. Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carolyn was born December 29, 1948 in Effingham, the daughter of Aloysius and Mathilda Mette. She married Robert “Bob” Poe on September 29, 1979. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis, and worked several years at World Color Press, and later at Walmart. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, playing cards and bingo, and listening to country music especially Conway Twitty.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Robert of Effingham; two sons, Dustin “Rusty” of Effingham, and Brandon (Desiree) of Altamont; six grandchildren, Morgan, Kourtney, Bella, Airys, Weston, and Auslyn; three brothers, John (Janice) Mette, Eugene Mette, and James (Rita) Mette all of Effingham; seven sisters, Theresa Miller of Newton, Rose (Art) Sudkamp of Casey, Kathy (Rick) Mitchell of Effingham, Alice (Dennis) Johnson of Stewardson, Mary (Rex) Allen of Dieterich, Rita (special friend Tony Goeckner) Mette of Teutopolis, and Janice (Bill) Zimmerman of Watson; an aunt Agnes Fuesting of Effingham; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma J. Mette; and brother in-law James F. Miller.
