Lila J. McCain, 79, of Altamont, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23 at the First United Methodist Church, Altamont with Rev. Willie Deuel officiating and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Altamont, American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.

Lila J. McCain was born on Thursday, May 13, 1937 in Dexter, rural Effingham County, IL to Perry and Bessie (Goens) Myers. She married Kenneth E. McCain on March 12, 1955 at the Methodist Parsonage, Altamont and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2013. She was a homemaker and babysitter for many and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, Altamont.

She is survived by: daughters, Diana McCain of Altamont, Linda Dippold and her husband Steve of Farina, Bonnie McCain of Altamont, and Shari McCain of Vandalia; brother, Ted Myers and his wife Stella of Altamont; sister, Sarah Gray of Rapatee, IL; seven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one great- great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; brothers, Perry, Roy and Charlie Myers and a brother, George in infancy; sisters, Beulah Duckwitz, Wanda Youngblood, and Virginia Trefzer.
