Harold K. Cain, age 77, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 6:39 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23 at the Little Prairie Baptist Church in Jackson Township, Illinois with one hour viewing prior to service. Ronnie Newman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Little Prairie Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may go to the OZA Cancer Center, the Little Prairie Baptist Cemetery or the donor’s choice.

Harold was born on July 24, 1939 in Clarksburg, Illinois to James and Madeline (McGlennon) Cain. He married Lawanda June Ullrich on May 9, 1958 in Effingham, Illinois. He was a road commissioner for Mason Township for 20 and a half years, worked as a Tool & Dye maker at Fedders for 15 years and a business agent for Local# 695 in Effingham, Illinois for 9 and a half years. For the past 35 years, he loved going mule riding in the Shawnee National Forest. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved every minute of it and had no regrets.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, June Cain of Mason, Illinois; five sons, Harold Cain Jr. of Mason, Illinois, Howard Cain (wife Amy) of Mason, Illinois, James Cain (wife Amy) of Boss, Missouri, Mike Cain of Mason, Illinois and Darryl Cain (wife Terri) of Mason, Illinois; one daughter, Kathy Cramsey (husband Lee) of Mason, Illinois; two brothers, Larry Cain (wife Vivian) of Mason, Illinois and Danny Cain (wife Judy) of Iuka, Illinois; four sisters, Judy Horn (husband Jim) of Effingham, Illinois, Pat Arnold of Iuka, Illinois, Shirley Shoemaker of Salem, Illinois, Luann Nice (husband Jerry) of Neoga, Illinois; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Madeline Cain.
