Imelda Catherine (Kocher) Mette, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 11:18 AM - Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Saturday, November 19 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in (Bishop Creek) rural Dieterich, Illinois. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Isidore Parish. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.

Imelda was born on October 25, 1926, in Stringtown, Illinois, the daughter of Augustine J. and Victoria M. (Blank) Kocher. She married Leonard Charles Mette on April 29, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stringtown, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2014. Imelda was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member of the St. Isidore Parish and attended the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Imelda is survived by: Children – Suzanne Mette (fiancé Michael Laue) of Decatur, Illinois and Mark Mette of Effingham, Illinois...Grandchildren – Travis (Christine) Watkins of Toledo, Illinois, Adam (Brittany) Mette of Neoga, Illinois and Braydon Shields of Effingham, Illinois...Great Grandchildren – Nevada Watkins, Dominic Thoele, Paydon Shields and Abbagayle Gray...and Sister – Thrasilla Beckman of Wheeler, Illinois.
Imelda was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters Eulalia and Regina Kocher.
