Barbara was born on October 21, 1919, in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Izidor Habijanac and Francisca Svatos. She married Paul Konigsbauer on September 1, 1936 at Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1990. Barbara was a world traveler having been born in South Bend, IN. She lived in Daruvar, Croatia as a young child. She moved to western Canada with her family and has nieces and nephews living there. After marrying she lived in eastern Canada. She settled in Illinois. Barbara was born with a passion for life. Barbara loved music and singing as a young child and her love for music grew as she played guitar and mandolin in the family band for neighbors on the prairie of Alberta, Canada. In her later years, she looked forward to Friday night where she took great joy in singing at the Edgewood Opry. Although she always worked outside the home, Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who loved to be surrounded by her family. She was full of fun and never tired of giving her sweetness and her love freely. She was a superb baker and the family has many fond memories of her bohemian yeast breads, and especially the making of apple struedel, her favorite, which required many hands around the table stretching the dough to less than paper-thin. Barbara loved gardening and canning, and especially growing beautiful flowers. Barbara was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Church. We will miss her greatly.

Barbara is survived by her 6 children, Irene (Joseph) Crement of Fox River Valley, Helen (Donald, deceased) Deeley of Seminole, FL, Evelyn (Wallace, deceased) Martina of St. Louis, MO, Stephen (Kathy) Konigsbauer of Salley, SC, Barbara (William, deceased) Nyberg of Edgewood, Lenora (Edward) Doedtman of rural Green Creek; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-greatgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Andrea Habijanac of Coaldale, Alberta, Canada, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Konigsbauer; grandchild, Theresa Lynne Jones; 2 brothers, Rudy and Victor Habijanac; and 1 sister Catherine Spence.
