Jeffrey Wilkey (57) of Effingham

Jeffrey Wayne Wilkey, 57, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, with Minister Nicholas Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Jeffrey to the family.

Jeffrey was born April 6, 1959, in Urbana, the son of Lloyd and Janice (Wilson) Wilkey. He married Marla (Brown) Long September 4, 2010 in Effingham, and she survives. Jeff traveled the road with his father while working for a moving company. He worked for Roadmaster for several years until its closure and was a grill cook for several local restaurants. Jeff was employed at Heartland Dental in Effingham in the PSR Department until shortly before his passing. Jeff loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing with his boys. Jeff loved to karaoke and had a great voice. He also enjoyed cooking.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Marla Wilkey of Effingham; sons, Aaron Wilkey and James (wife Lisa) Hubert, both of Effingham, and Jeffrey Hubert of Sterling, Colo.; daughter, Sarah Wilkey and fiancé, Mark A. Reeves of Effingham; step-son, Michael Long of Effingham; 18 grandchildren; sisters, Deanna (husband Doug) Huber of Ivesdale and Christi (husband David) Robinson of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Janice Wilkey; brother, Richard Wilkey; and son, Gregory Wilkey.
