Edith (Cox) Croft, 87, of Greenup died at 8:15pm Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care in Greenup.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Saturday, August 27 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Greenup, Illinois. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday at the Meyer Funeral Home - Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church Greenup, Illinois 62428.

Edith was born on October 10, 1928, in Cumberland County, Illinois, the daughter of Ira William “Bill” and Ernestine Norene (Fogleman) Cox. She married Eugene George Croft on February 19, 1949, in Teutopolis, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2006. Edith graduated from Greenup High School in 1946. Edith was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the family farm for many years, before retiring and moving to Greenup in 1987. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church; Altar Society; former member of the Cumberland and Jasper County Home Extension. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, cooking, visiting with family and friends, collecting precious moments and elephants.
 
Edith is survived by: Son – Loren (wife Denise) Croft of Greenup, Illinois...Grandchildren – Josh (wife Ashley) Croft of Wasilla, Alaska, Noel (wife Pamela) Sons of Germany, Melissa Sons of Mattoon, Illinois...Great Grandchildren –Zoe Croft, Emily Croft, Kambelle Ashmore, Elysa Sons, Eleanore Sons and Madison Pogue...Daughter-in-law – Virginia Croft of Mattoon, Illinois...Sister-in-law – Shirley Cox of Woodbury, Illinois.
 
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene; sons George Thomas Croft and Leon Eugene Croft, grandsons Jason Croft and Justin Croft and brothers Bill Cox and Thurman Cox.
