Wanita Arlone Lucas, 98, of Pana died Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Heritage Health, Pana.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 22 at Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond with Pastor Amanda Richards officiating. Memorials to Rosemond Grove Cemetery, the World War II Museum in Washington, DC, or donor's choice.

She was born on June 8, 1918 in Taylorville, the daughter of Walter Amos Hawkins and Ona Hazel (Shover) Hawkins. She was a graduate of Taylorville High School and Normal University. She lived in Pana for several years after retirement. She lived in Effingham and Monticello. She was a homemaker, helped her husband on the farm, taught in her earlier years, and was an office manager. In later years, she was the owner/office manager for the family business. She had a passion for genealogy. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Pana. She married Monroe Allen Lucas on September 11, 1939 in St. Charles, MO.

Survivors include children Vivian Heidbreder and husband Ronald of Altamont and Jeffrey Allen Lucas and wife Kumcha of Castle Rock, Colorado...grandchildren, Stephen White, Benjamin White, Dr. Angela Valentine...and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1979, her mother in 1976, her husband in 1990, her daughter, Sandra Kay (Lucas) White in 1981, son-in-law Dr. Derrell White, and brother William Hawkins.
