Mark S. Wildman, 58, of Strasburg, IL, died at 1:42 a.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016 in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday all in the church. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Stewardson-Strasburg Parent-Teacher- Student Association (P.T.S.A).

Mark was born on January 25, 1958 in Decatur, IL, the son of Freeman and Lucille Madigan Wildman. He graduated from Lovington High School in the Class of 1976 and from the University of Illinois in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education. Mark was a teacher at Stewardson-Strasburg High School from 1980 – 2012. He also coached junior high softball from 1995-2008 and 5th-8th grade basketball from 1985-2008. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Stewardson-Strasburg Education Association, and Illinois Association of Vocational Agricultural Teachers (IAVAT). Mark received the Stewardson-Strasburg Outstanding Alumnus Award. He married Jeanne Foelsing on April 13, 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; four daughters, Lauren (Luke) Wetherell of Stewardson, IL, Nicole (Richard) Clapp of Toledo, IL, Alecia (Colton) Booher of Effingham, IL and Shalyn Wildman (Jacob Tabbert) of Strasburg, IL; parents, Freeman and Lucille Wildman of Sullivan, IL; father-in-law, Delbert Foelsing of Effingham, IL; brothers, Richard (Cheryl) Wildman of Allenville, IL, and Doug (Nancy) Wildman of Lovington, IL; sisters, Sheila Decker of Philo, IL and Cathy (Roy) Yantis of Findlay, IL; sisters-in-law, Maleah (Jim) Whitehair of Charleston, SC and Deanna Foelsing of Effingham, IL; brother-in-law, James (Christine) Foelsing of Hazelwood, MO; six grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Wyatt and Karly Wetherell, Weston Booher, Maverick Clapp, and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Marilyn Foelsing and brother-in-law Charlie Decker.
