Ralph Edward Daugherty, 80, of Xenia died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 2, at 10:00am at Red Brush Christian Church at Louisville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Monday at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville and from 9 to 10am Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville with military rites by the Louisville American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Ralph was born on April 28, 1936 in Louisville, IL, the son of the late Henry Clinton Daugherty and the late Beulah (Fugate) Daugherty. On June 9, 1967 he was united in marriage to Diana Kempiak in Geneva, IL, Kane County. She survives in Xenia. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Local 150 out of Countryside, IL, and was a United States Army Veteran.  He loved playing and singing bluegrass, gospel singing, reading and camping.

Ralph is survived by his wife Diana, son Michael (Dawn) Daugherty of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Jacqueline (David) Vukadinovich of Rochelle, IL, Victoria (Todd) Baumann of Roanoke, IL; brother Gary (Marge) Daugherty of Louisville; sister, Lucille Roark of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Tyler Severson, Anna Severson, Haleigh Baumann, Alexandra Daugherty and Christopher Daugherty.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Daugherty; brothers James and Delbert Daugherty; sisters Dorothy Griffy, Mildred Griffy, Lois Habbe and Donna Ashley.
