Jack Hale, 88, of Louisville died at 7:15am Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Burge House in Flora.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Thursday, July 21 at J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30am Thursday with Masonic rites at 11:15am. Interment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Louisville with military rites at the gravesite. Memorials to Clay County Veterans Memorial in Louisville.

Jack was born March 25, 1928 in Harter Township, Clay County, IL, the son of the late Mallory and the late Grace (Sewell) Hale. He married Ruth Erwin and she preceded him death. He later was united in marriage with Vivian Louise Dawkins in February 1962 and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2015. He was a member of the Flora Masonic Lodge, a 60 year member of the Louisville American Legion Post 914, and was employed by the Federal Housing Authority in Clay County as a maintenance supervisor.

Jack is survived by son, Thomas (Laura) Hale of Louisville; daughters, Kathy (Larry) Hagen of Louisville, Carla (Rick) Herring of Midwest City, OK; brother Walter Carol (Fern) Hale of Louisville; grandchildren, Beth (Landon)  Etheridge of Effingham, Jill Evans of Albion, Nicole Gray of Mt. Vernon, Rikki Herring of Midwest City, OK, Brian Hale of Fort Hood, TX; great grandchildren, Trey Evans, Hagen Evans, Hunter Gray, Carson Etheridge, Lauren Etheridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ruth and second wife Louise, brother Allen Hale and grandson Mark England.
