Allen Lee Michels, 61, of Cisne, IL passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 on the family farm.

Funeral services will be 10AM Tuesday, June 28 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bunker Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bedford Township Fire Department or Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.

Allen was born December 23, 1954 at Flora, IL to Albert C. and Lela E. (Hickenbottom) Michels.  He married Kathy Howe July 18, 1975 in Flora, IL and she survives. Allen was a self-employed cattleman and farmer. He cherished his family, enjoyed giving tractor and 4 Wheeler rides to his grandsons and was an avid Kindle Reader. Allen was a Keith Township Trustee, President of Bedford Township Fire Department Board, a member of Illinois Beef Association, Elm River Chowder, and Cisne Christian Church.

Allen is survived by his wife Kathy of Cisne, IL; two daughters Sarah (Brian) Keck of Cisne, Il and Emily (Tyler) Purcell of Salem, IL; one son Scott (Whitney) Michels of Cisne, IL; one sister Becky (Delbert) Rodgers of Cisne, IL; two brothers Jay Michels of Cisne, IL and Wilbur Michels of Clay City, IL. Also surviving are six grandsons Landen, Karsen, and Colten Keck, Carter and Deacon Purcell, and Matthew Albert Michels and twin granddaughters on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
