Lulu M. Rouleau, 87, of Altamont died at 5:42 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her son’s home in Altamont.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at St. Clare Catholic Church, Altamont with Fr. Marek Kasperczuk officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clare Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service conducted by Fr. Marek Kasperczuk and Tom Fedrigon. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Lu was born on Tuesday, September 18, 1928 in Edgewood, IL to Samuel L. and Matilda A. (Shab) Roedl. She married Roger J. Rouleau, Sr. on October 23, 1948; he preceded her in death on February 2, 2003. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Altamont. In addition to raising their family she was a cook and baker at Stuckey’s Pecan Shoppe, Altamont and Niemerg’s, Effingham.
She is survived by: sons, Roger, Jr (Haylee) of Wichita, KS, Sy (Joyce) of Sims, AL, Ray of Brownstown, Mick, Sr. (Donna) of Altamont, and Paul (Nikki) of Ashland City, TN; daughter, Theresa (John) Maradik of Fairhope, AL; 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Curtis and Sylvester; and Orville in infancy, and her sister, Edna Dickman.
