Merrill A. Snow (90) of Tower Hill

Merrill A. Snow, 90, of Tower Hill died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville.

There will be no funeral service. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31 from 9-11:30am at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden followed by a committal service at Ridge Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.

He was born October 15, 1925 in Herrick, the son of Charles and Ella Mae (Crouch) Snow. He married Marian "Dood" Francis Childs on February 1, 1946 and she preceded him in death on September 6, 1992. He served in the US Army as well as the US Air Force. He worked at Snow's Barbershop from the early 1950s until the 1970s when he started with the Laborers Local 159, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge 979. He enjoyed gardening, raising hogs and cattle, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Snow and wife Mary of Decatur, Robert Snow and wife Peggy of Lakewood, David Snow of Englewood, Colorado, and Charles Snow of Tower Hill...two grandchildren, Kristin Ledgerwood and Raye Ann Mays of Shelbyville...four great-grandchildren...two brothers Glen "Doc" Snow and Wilmer "Willie" Snow.

Preceding him in death were his parents...wife...grandson, Robbie Allen...two brothers, Roby and Roscoe...and two sisters, Agatha and Elsie.
