Ellen Dragoo, 76, passed away peacefully at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, Illinois on Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2016. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Ellen was born on September 23, 1939 in the town of St. Elmo in Fayette County. She was the third child of Richard L. and Jessie Arminta (Albertson) Dial. She went to high school at St. Elmo High School and graduated in 1957. She was well loved and respected as a banker in the Champaign-Urbana community for many years. She retired in 2006. Ellen loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She collected photographs over the years, and the family is blessed with a treasury of albums she put together of family vacations and holidays. Ellen loved Christmas, and she always made sure Santa Claus left gifts for everyone. She enjoyed summer the best of all the seasons and had many pool friends she grew close to over the years. Ellen attended New Horizon Methodist Church in Champaign, Illinois faithfully, where her son often played keyboard in the worship band.

Ellen is preceded in death by her father, Richard L Dial, her mother, Jessie Arminta (Albertson) Dial, and her sister, Phyllis Jean Myers.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Chuck “Brad” (Kathy) Dragoo and Kevin Dragoo, both of Urbana, Illinois, her grandchildren, Michael Guarnacci, Riverside, California, Mandi (Lee) Hartley, Beaumont, California, Molly Dragoo, Max Dragoo, and Mercedez Dragoo, Urbana, Illinois, and her great-grandchildren Mack Green, Harrison Hartley, Ruby Hartley, and, soon to be born, Henry Hartley, Beaumont, California. She is also survived by one brother -James (Rita) Dial of Effingham and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Morgan Memorial Home 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy on Tuesday May 31 from 5:00-to-7:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 P.M. with the Pastor Mark Jordan officiating. Memorials may be directed to The Arthritis Foundation.
