Lela Marie Grissom, 70 of Gays, Illinois, went to be with the Lord at 11:25 A.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Heath Center of Coles County, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 28 in the Free Methodist Church of Neoga, IL with the Rev. Steve Massengill of Neoga, Rev. Wesley Wuerch of Hawkins, TX and Rev. Butch Holder of Waxahachie, TX officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, and one hour before the services at the church. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery near Greenup, IL. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Free Methodist Church of Neoga.

She was born February 6, 1946, in Greenup, the daughter of Oris "Carl" and Francis "Alene" (Decker) Grissom. Lela was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Neoga, IL. She was a former Cemetery Director for the Memorial Park Cemetery of Decatur, Illinois. She was also active in many community affairs.

She leaves one son, Allen Campbell and wife Terrie Lynn of Milton, FL and one daughter, Sherlyn "Sherry" Hall and husband Randy of Lake Mattoon, IL; two sisters, Letha Wuerch and husband Wesley of  Hawkins, TX and Viola Holder and husband Eugene "Butch" of Waxahachie, TX: ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one daughter-in-law, Leah Jenkins of Charleston, IL.

Lela Grissom was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Stephen L. Campbell; one brother, Everett Grissom; one sister, Velma  Grissom.
