Ella Mae Martin, 88, of Peoria, formerly of Mattoon and Yale, passed away at 9:02 am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Manor Court Liberty Village in Peoria, Illinois.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 4 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the service time. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Oblong.

Ella Mae was born on May 16, 1927 in Oblong, Illinois; the daughter of Ray and Florence (McGovern) Newlin. She married Edgar Wayne Martin on June 1, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2010.
Surviving is son Clifford (Lisa) Martin of Mattoon; daughters Elaine (Richard) Adrian of Dunlap, IL and Jo (Mike) Clark of Rose Hill, IL; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Leslie Ray Martin and two great grandchildren.
Ella Mae was a homemaker but she also worked as a cook at the Yale School and at Young Shoe Store in Mattoon. She was a member of the Winebrenner Church of God of Mattoon. She loved cooking, her church and her family.
