Delbert L. Green age 87 of Newton passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Headyville Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois. Memorial gifts for Delbert may be made to either the Headyville Cemetery or to the First Baptist Church of Newton.

Delbert was born on March 6, 1929 in Lawrence County, Illinois the son of William and Violet (Blair) Green. On January 20, 1949, Delbert married Wanda Ruth Bickers. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2013. Delbert was a retired auto mechanic. Through the years, he served as the service manager for Webster Ford, Hahn Motor Sales, and McClane Motors. He later served as the night watchman for the Norris Electric Co-op in Newton. Delbert was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Olney. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed time spent with his family.
Delbert will be loved and remembered by his son Bob Green, wife Jayne of Newton and Bryan Green of Salem; daughter Diane Carr, husband Larry of Pekin, IL; grandsons, Kenton Carr, Brenton Carr, wife Tina, Joshua Robert Green, Justin Keith Green, Clayton Michael Green, wife Kendra; great-grandchildren Aaron Carr, Riley Carr, Derrick Carr, Cameron Carr, Melanie Green, Christopher Green, and Tristan Keith Green; brother Howard Green, wife Mary of Palestine, IL; sister Doris Seitz of Vincennes, IN, and sisters-in-laws Ada Bickers of Palestine, IL., Dorothy Green of Robinson, IL, and Jean Green of Bridgeport, IL.
His parents, wife Wanda, brothers Vernon, Dale, Bill, Larry, and Donald Green and sisters Olive Dorsey and Gladys Fisharbor preceded him in death.
