SANDRA S. "Sandy" McKIBBEN, 79, of rural Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 6:28 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 13 in the United Presbyterian Church of Neoga, with the Rev. Andrew Clark of Neoga officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, and for one hour at the Church on Wednesday before services. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, Illinois. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Church of Neoga, IL, Habitat for Humanity International, or to Donor's Choice.

She was born October 18, 1936 in Charleston, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Ina (Leitch) Adkins. She married Robert F. Swengel, June 3, 1956 in Neoga, IL and Dr. Swengel passed away March 6, 1994. She later married Robert L. McKibben on February 4, 1995 in Neoga and Mr. McKibben passed away December 8, 2001. Sandy was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women's group of Neoga. She was active in the Habitat for Humanity International. She enjoyed reading and telling stories to the children at the Neoga Library. She was an avid supporter of Neoga High School sports and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also enjoyed working in her garden, and visiting with her friends and neighbors.
Sandy leaves two sons, Fred B. Swengel and wife Aimee of St. Paul, MN and Scott R. Swengel and wife Ann of Baraboo, WI; two daughters, Cinda Donton and husband Lee of Goshen, VT and Lisa Drake and husband Carl of Fenton, MO; one stepson, Robert McKibben II and wife Lisa of Van Nuys, CA; one step daughter, Shannon Leigh Showalter of Burbank, CA; three brothers, Paul Adkins, Dale Adkins, and Charles "Chuck" of Neoga; two sisters, Brenda Moreland and husband Les of Wildwood, FL and Carolyn Boblitt and husband Leonard of Bethany, IL; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. McKibben was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Dr. Robert Swengel and Robert McKibben; one brother, Earl Adkins and one sister, Eloise Anderson.
