Janet Gail Thompson (71) of Farina

Janet Gail Thompson, age 71, of Farina, Illinois passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 8 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Peter, Illinois. Cathy Mellendorf will be officiating. There will be a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at Elder Cemetery in rural Kinmundy, Illinois. Memorials may go to Pagel Funeral Homes to defer funeral expenses, American Cancer Society, or donor’s choice.

Janet was born on November 29, 1944 in Fort Branch, Indiana, the daughter of Arnold and Katherine (Jones) Wilkerson. She was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church. She owned and operated JT’S Pool Supply in Vandalia, Illinois and eventually sold her business in 2005 to Pisces Pools and Spas, where she continued to work and manage the Vandalia store until health issues forced her to retire in 2010. She loved antiques, working around her house and in the yard, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, JR Wolfe of Farina, Illinois; two daughters, Penny Donaldson of St. Peter, Illinois and  Kim Lane of Kinmundy, Illinois; 4 brothers, Larry Wilkerson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Eddy Wilkerson of Brownsburg, Indiana, Roger Wilkerson of Princeton, Indiana, Ricky Wilkerson of Princeton, Indiana; 4 sisters, Linda Haubold of Princeton, Indiana, Joyce Miller of Princeton, Indiana, Barbara Metric of Princeton, Illinois and Marsha Pinkston of Winslow, Indiana; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Katherine Wilkerson; one son, William Keith Terry; two brothers, James Thull Wilkerson in infancy and Ronald Lee Wilkerson; one grandson, Nolan Kraemer and one granddaughter, Sarah Gail Kulesza.
