Dean R. “Bob” Faircloth, 87, of Effingham, passed away at 7:07 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Willowbrook of Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, IL. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham, with military rites. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Dean to the United Way of Effingham County or donor’s choice.

Bob was born on January 5, 1929, in Wrightsville, PA, the son ofCharles and Mary (Hake) Faircloth. He married Ellna Prost and she preceded him in death on January 3, 1998. He later married Mary (Kehoe) West on August 28, 2001, and she survives. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired as a Master Sergeant after 25 years. He was a member of Effingham American Legion Post 120, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, carpentry, and photography.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary West Faircloth of Effingham; step-children, Mary Jo (Kelly) Tucker of Effingham, Jack (Jeanne) West Jr. of Brookfield, WI, Patrick (Patty) West of Vandalia, Robert (Shelia) West of Effingham, Tom (Cheryl) West of Charleston, Cathy O’Leary of Jacksonville, FL, David (Teresa) West of Cape Coral, FL, Dorothy (Walt) Webner of Sedalia, Mo, Barbara (Don) Baker of O’Fallon, MO, and Nancy (Cary) Cain of Troy, MO; 31 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; nephew, Arthur Faircloth of Wrightsville, PA; and niece, Tina Potts of Mount Wolf, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ellna; one daughter; 2 brothers, Charles Faircloth Jr. and Gerald A. Faircloth.
