Betty Imogene Orr (88) formerly of St. Elmo

Betty Imogene Orr, age 88, formerly of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Liberty Village of Maryville in Maryville, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 Monday, March 21 at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. Kent Denton will be officiating. There will be a viewing before the service from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. Memorials may go to Heartland Hospice Care at 333 Salem Place Suite 165 Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.

Imogene was born on May 19, 1927 in Fayette County, Illinois, the daughter of Orville Lonnie and Reatha Lorraine (Evans) Sarver. She married Donald Emmett Orr on December 2, 1944 in Fayette County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1989. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Herrick, Illinois. She was the St. Elmo City Treasurer for 30 years and later worked as a teller at the Fayette County Bank for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (husband Larry) Gire of Troy, Illinois; 2 grandchildren, Amy (husband Paul) Sarhage and Laura Gire Dods; 5 great-grandchildren, Susan Bohnenstiehl, Matthew Sarhage, Kari Sarhage, Rachel Dods, and Shannon Dods and a great-great-grandchild, Avery Bohnenstiehl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Reatha Sarver and brother, Orville Lonnie Sarver Jr.
