Treva Neunlist Chisler, 83, with family at her side peacefully let go of this life Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:35am in Port Charlotte, Florida after a courageous seven year battle of cancer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22 in the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Dillingham Cemetery near Corinth. To honor her life visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Following graveside services a reception will be held at Marion First Apostolic Church. Treva Willadean Martin was born August 9, 1932, to John & Millie Pyles Martin in Gallatin County, the youngest of 11children. Her grade school and high school years were spent in West Frankfort, Illinois.
She is survived by her devoted husband James M.Chisler of Punta Gorda Florida, where they have resided since 2001. Treva retired from JTPA after many years serving as a youth counselor, placing young people in employment. Jim and Treva were married September 1, 2009. For 30+ years they enjoyed traveling together and spending quality time with loved ones(family & friends). Also surviving her are two sisters, Mary (Vaughn) Barker formerly of Hammond, IN., now residing in Jamestown,Tennessee and Della (Cecil) Eickelman of Christopher, IL., along with one brother William Floyd (Mary) Martin of Marion, Illinois. Her son Chris Neunlist of Marion, a son in-law Woody (Vicki Neunlist) Patton of Marion, granddaughter Cassi (Jonathon) Steinsultz of Marion Illinois, granddaughter Heather Neunlist of Cashion Oklahoma, and grandson Brandon (Kellyn) Neunlist of Weatherford Texas, also her 3 great grandchildren Angelyn, Patton and Victorya Steinsultz of Marion. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, many beloved relatives, neighbors and a lifetime of friends who will keep her in loving memory.
Preceding Treva in death are siblings Frank Martin, Annabelle Carnahan, Lawrence Martin, Phoebe Davis, A. B. “Pepper” Martin, John Martin, and Rosetta Colbert. Also preceding her; Dempsey Victor Neunlist and their daughter, Vicki(Neunlist)Patton and granddaughter Angel Lynn Patton both of Harrisburg Illinois and grandson Matthew John Neunlist of Cashion Oklahoma.
Her life truly proved a God-given strength and determination she lived daily, shining. Her sweet and kind spirit will live on because she treasured her family and blessed us with so many wonderful memories. Treva will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
