Darlene Marie Sphar, 84, of Cowden passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Tuesday, March 8 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Visitation will be from 1-3pm Tuesday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Memorials to the donor's choice.

Darlene was born August 2, 1931, the daughter of Clarence W. and Velda M. (Kline) Miller. Darlene married Roy Wendell Sphar on June 29, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2006. Darlene was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church of Cowden. She had a passion for music, loved playing cards with friends, working puzzles and reading.
Surviving are daughter Judy (George) Kessler of Shumway; son Jim (Bonnie) Sphar of Beecher City; six grandchildren Crystal Sphar of Cowden, Matthew (Jennifer) Sphar of Altamont, Jared (Jodi) Sphar of Altamont, Cody (Nathan) Doty of Shumway, Casey (Ryan) Dunaway of Beecher City and Cally (Tyson) Robertson of Effingham; eight great-grandchildren Colton, Emma, Will, Kimber, Keegan, Caleb, Kylie and Kynlee; brother LeRoy Miller of Conroe, TX and sister Mary Cornell of Mattoon.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and brother Clifford Miller.
