Glen L. Henson, 87, of Flora died on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Flora Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday, February 16 at Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Michael LeMay officiating. Interment will follow in Henson Cemetery near Xenia. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Monday. Memorials to Clay County Hospice or First Church of God in Flora.

Glen was born February 5, 1929, the son of Samuel and Nettie (Cameron) Henson. He was united in marriage to Laura J. Sloan in Salem, Illinois on May 19, 1952. They have shared 64 wonderful years together. Glen was a lifelong member of the First Church of God. He was a retired employee of the City of Flora. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Glen served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Tank Commander, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Jean Henson of Flora; one sister, Edna Mae Fatheree of Flora; 5 children: Tina (Rick) Branham of Flora, Sandra Henson of Cisne, Beverly (Christopher) Britton of Flora, Connie (Dave) Rhodes of Flora, and David (Carolyn) Henson of Iuka; 5 grandchildren: Amy (Tyson) Tolliver of Effingham, Ryan (Diana) Branham of Noble, Kendra (Greg) Warner of Effingham, Kristen (Cody) Lynn of Cisne, and Taylor Rhodes of Flora; a stepgranddaughter, Jessica (Kyle) Aulabaugh of Alton, Illinois; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Paul, Noel “Doc”, and Sammy Henson; a sister, Eileen Jones; and a stepgrandson, Trey Rhodes.
