Robert H. Warfel (85) of Greenup

Robert H. Warfel, 85, of Greenup, Illinois passed away at 7:02 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Cumberland Rehab & Health Care Center in Greenup, IL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 22 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the service time. Burial will be in the Block Cemetery, Greenup, Illinois.
Robert was born on December 8, 1930 in Douglas County, the son of Rual and Chlora Mae (Chapman) Warfel. He married Rosalie Shepard on October 4, 1950. She preceded him in death in 2006. Surviving are sons Robert (Linda) Warfel of Greenup, Daniel Warfel of Greenup; daugthers Karen (Robert) Moffett of Westfield, Jane (Melvin) Thompson of Marshall; brothers Ronald Warfel of Rose Hill, Doyle (Carolyn) Warfel of Newton, Larry (Linda) Warfel of Martinsville; sister Mabel (Orville) Kibler of Newton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond and Glen Warfel, sister Jeanette Sachau, grandson Jamie Moffett.
Robert was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves from 1948-55. Robert enjoyed dancing and attending the Hootenanny. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here
