Pauline L. Gobczynski (nee Thoele), 91, of Teutopolis, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis, followed by interment in the St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Church with a 7 p.m. parish wake service. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Pauline was born on October 11, 1924 in rural Teutopolis, the daughter of Alph and Emma (Wente) Thoele. She married Leo J. Gobczynski on August 21, 1948. They made their home in Teutopolis and that union produced five children. Pauline was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She was a member of St. Francis CCW.
Pauline is survived by her five children: Alan Gobczynski (Kathy Schultz) of Aberdeen, SD; Gene Gobczynski (Janet Sur) of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Leon Gobczynski (Rebecca Sims) of Teutopolis, IL; Ann Flach (Pat Flach) of Effingham, IL and Roy Gobczynski of Effingham, IL; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Jim Thoele of Largo, FL; Theresa Glant of Lakeland, FL and Dorothy Ruholl of Lillyville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo on August 8, 2010; her parents; grandson, Andrew Gobczynski; brothers, Clarence Thoele, Harold Thoele and John Thoele; and sisters, Elvira Habing and Jane Ruholl.
