Martha J. Pruemer, 94, of Teutopolis died at 8:45pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Monday, January 18 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Sunday at the church with a 6:30pm parish wake service. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.

Martha was born October 5, 1921 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Kollmeyer) Buscher. She married William F. Pruemer on May 3, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1976. Martha was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic in Teutopolis and was a retired cook for the Teutopolis Grade School. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends, and had a love for flowers and gardening. Martha was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching their games on t.v.. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her son, Ron Pruemer of Teutopolis; two daughters, JoAnn (Maynard) King of Marion and Connie (Mike) Eskew of Effingham; daughter-in-law, Susan Pruemer of Effingham; brother, Joe (Betty) Buscher of Teutopolis; sister, Celeste Pruemer of Teutopolis and sister-in-law, Luella Buscher of Teutopolis; six grandchildren, Billy (Sarah) Pruemer, Andy Pruemer, Amy (Jeff) Carrico, Kristy (Steve) Long, Stacey Eskew and Travis Eskew; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Carrico, Joanna Carrico, Cole Carrico, Bailey Long, Brody Long, Drew Pruemer and Chase Pruemer; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Art Pruemer; brother, Louis Buscher; sisters, Florence (Bernard) Westendorf and Lucille (Henry) Pruemer; brother-in-law, John Pruemer and grandchildren, Melissa King and Richard King.
